Ryan's Daughter's Schoolhouse

One of the most important events to happen in this area in recent times was the filming of ‘Ryan’s Daughter’ in the late 1960s. This film brought wealth and employment to the west Kerry villages and is still bring visitors to the area. If possible rent the video before you arrive in Kerry to whet your appetite. At this point we normally take the road back to Dingle however there are many other places of interest, which can be included in the tour.
These include:
• The Blasket Centre houses many artefacts and original writings and a wealth of information about the blasket Islands and its history and people.
This visit can take up to one hour and includes a guided tour and film show. This is also a good place to stop for lunch.
• Ryan’s Daughter: Visit some of the locations from this famous movie including the Old Schoolhouse.
